Sparks Group in partnership with a local bank to find a Chief Credit Officer. As the Chief Credit Officer and key executive leader, you will drive the performance, quality, and overall profitability of the bank’s centralized lending operations and loan portfolio. In this role, you will mentor lending teams, establish strategic policies, and collaborate with executive leadership to shape the institution's long-term growth. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree along with 15 years of management in bank credit administration including all types of lending and credit analysis, banking laws and regulations. Responsibilities:- Direct loan approval processes, set competitive pricing, and actively monitor risk ratings, delinquency ratios, and loan concentrations to maintain portfolio quality.
- Keep bank credit policies and standard operating procedures updated to ensure full compliance with evolving regulatory standards and audit guidelines.
- Manage and streamline operations across Credit, Special Assets, Loan Compliance, and SBA Servicing to ensure fast, efficient loan turnaround and minimal losses.
- Assess the adequacy of the Loan Loss Reserve, make adjustments as necessary, and keep Executive Management and the Board informed of portfolio trends.
- Recruit top talent, set clear performance goals, conduct annual reviews, and lead ongoing cross-training for lending officers and branch managers.
- Partner with Calling Officers on prospective client calls and oversee quick processing turnaround times for consumer and commercial loans.
- Serve as an active member of Senior Management and the Asset/Liability Committee, and regularly present updates to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, finance or related
- Minimum of 15 years of management in bank credit administration to include various types of lending and in-depth knowledge of credit analysis, banking laws and regulations.
- Proven record of managing a high-quality credit portfolio
- Proficient in MS Office and any experience with TRID and CECL is a plus.
