This opportunity spans from August 6 to May 28, working weekdays from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Lead a caseload of 35 students in grades 6 through 8, delivering differentiated instruction and fostering a supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications/Skills Sought:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience teaching middle school students, especially in a resource or self-contained setting
- In-depth knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Creative problem-solving and behavioral management skills
- Comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress reports and assessments
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with colleagues to create effective accommodations and modifications
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic needs in both small-group and individual settings
- Foster a safe, positive, inclusive classroom culture
