School Psychologist - Hayward, California

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled School Psychologist to provide essential support for students across two school sites in a contract, itinerant role. This position is in-person only and covers a maternity leave from November through March 31.

The assignment focuses on delivering psychological services in an elementary (Elm) setting. Responsibilities include conducting Special Education (SPED) assessments, providing counseling, and implementing behavior support strategies to empower student success. As you travel between sites, you’ll engage with diverse student populations and collaborate with school staff to create supportive learning environments.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid credentials as a School Psychologist
• Experience working in school settings, preferably at the elementary level
• Ability to conduct comprehensive SPED assessments
• Proficiency in providing counseling for children
• Strong skills in developing and applying behavior support plans
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
• Capacity for independent, flexible, and responsive service delivery across multiple sites

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and complete SPED assessments in compliance with school and legal requirements
• Deliver individual and group counseling to students with a variety of needs
• Support positive behavior interventions in collaboration with educators and special services teams
• Document services provided, maintain accurate records, and prepare required reports
• Participate in team meetings, IEP sessions, and school-wide initiatives
