Job Description

This position is designed to provide high-quality coverage for a maternity leave in an engaging educational environment near Rochester, MI. You'll support students ranging from early childhood through elementary school, collaborating with dedicated educators and making meaningful contributions during a critical time.
Assignment Details:
- Duration: August 24 – November 11
- Schedule: 2-3 days per week
- Grade Levels: Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classrooms
- Setting: Supportive school community with access to educational resources
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings
- Familiarity with educational accommodations, IEP processes, and adaptive strategies for young learners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Flexibility and a positive approach to new environments and schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate student needs and develop/implement therapy plans tailored for elementary and early childhood students
- Provide direct therapy services to support fine motor skills, sensory processing, handwriting, and functional independence
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to facilitate student progress and generalization of skills to classroom routines
- Contribute to IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation as required
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for students of varying abilities
