A thriving middle school is seeking a dedicated professional to step into a vital LBS1 teaching role for the upcoming school year. In this contract position, you will co-teach four sections of English Language Arts—two each for 7th and 8th grades—while managing a caseload of approximately 15 students. Your ability to foster a supportive learning environment and collaborate with colleagues will have a meaningful impact on students’ growth and success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience working within a middle school setting preferred
- Strong background in co-teaching or collaborative classroom environments
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload and document student progress
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and accommodations for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusion, empathy, and respect among all students
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based ELA instruction with a general education co-teacher
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress towards goals
- Provide targeted support and interventions to meet students’ varied needs
- Collaborate regularly with families, specialists, and school staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and required reports
- Contribute to a positive, productive classroom and school community
