A thriving middle school is seeking a dedicated professional to step into a vital LBS1 teaching role for the upcoming school year. In this contract position, you will co-teach four sections of English Language Arts—two each for 7th and 8th grades—while managing a caseload of approximately 15 students. Your ability to foster a supportive learning environment and collaborate with colleagues will have a meaningful impact on students’ growth and success.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher certification required
  • Experience working within a middle school setting preferred
  • Strong background in co-teaching or collaborative classroom environments
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and document student progress
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and accommodations for diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion, empathy, and respect among all students

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based ELA instruction with a general education co-teacher
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress towards goals
  • Provide targeted support and interventions to meet students’ varied needs
  • Collaborate regularly with families, specialists, and school staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and required reports
  • Contribute to a positive, productive classroom and school community
