Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated School Psychologist to provide essential support for middle school students during a maternity leave. This full-time, contract position will run from October 1, 2026, through December 2026, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. The role is located onsite at a middle school serving a vibrant and diverse learning community near Dekalb, IL.
You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to deliver direct and consultative psychological services. Your expertise will help foster student well-being and academic success throughout the duration of this assignment.
Key Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain active Illinois School Psychologist licensure
- Demonstrated experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessments, IEP processes, and behavioral intervention strategies
- Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly regarded
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments for students as needed
- Participate in the development and review of IEPs
- Consult with educators and families to support student growth
- Deliver counseling and crisis intervention services
- Document and maintain confidential records in line with school policies
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and support school-wide initiatives
