Job Description
Exciting contract opportunity for an experienced School Social Worker to support elementary students in a dynamic educational setting near Sugar Grove, IL. This role provides the chance to make a positive impact on K-5th grade students by addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs throughout the school day.
You will play a vital part in fostering a supportive environment and helping students thrive academically and personally. The assignment runs from August 12, 2026, through November 4, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Illinois School Social Worker License (IL SSW) and Professional Educator License (PEL) are required
- Prior school-based social work experience supporting elementary-aged students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other school professionals
- Strong communication, crisis intervention, and case management skills
- Dedication to supporting diverse student populations onsite during regular school hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social and emotional support and counseling to K-5 students on an individual and group basis
- Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to student needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to design proactive support plans
- Help facilitate communication between home, school, and community resources
- Participate in meetings for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and student support teams
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports in accordance with school and regulatory standards
