Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-2nd grade students with social and emotional needs. Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience working with K-2nd grade students in a special education setting
- Demonstrated skill in addressing social and emotional challenges in young children
- Strong collaborative abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for fostering student growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting social and emotional growth
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to create a supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and support staff to support holistic student development
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with families to encourage engagement and progress
- Assess student needs and track progress through data collection and documentation
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices
