Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving a diverse population of students from preschool through 8th grade as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This six-month assignment begins August 12th, 2026, and concludes around February 12th, 2027. You’ll be working up to 37.5 hours each week across five days, making a meaningful impact on young learners in a supportive district near Hayward, CA.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Valid, current OT or COTA licensure in California
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting, preferably working with preschool to middle school-age children
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and school documentation requirements
  • Compassionate, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching and therapy
  • Ability to organize a varied caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently

As part of this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and assessing students’ needs using a variety of OT tools and strategies
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individual therapy plans in line with students’ IEPs
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student success
  • Providing direct therapy services to students and offering consultative support to staff
  • Maintaining documentation and progress reports as required by school policy
  • Attending IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary planning
