Join an expanding OB Hospitalist team in Lafayette, Louisiana, offering a true inpatient-only laborist model with predictable shift scheduling, strong specialty support, and consistent delivery volume. This opportunity provides dedicated time away from the hospital while allowing you to focus on high-quality obstetric care.
Position Highlights- 100% inpatient OB Hospitalist role with no clinic responsibilities or home call
- Expanding team moving toward a dedicated 24/7 model with two physicians on-site per 12-hour shift
- Manage L&D care, emergent and scheduled C-sections, operative deliveries, ED GYN consultations, and inpatient rounding
- Support from CNMs, L&D RNs, lactation specialists, pregnancy navigators, and daytime APP coverage
- In-house anesthesia, on-site neonatology, and employed MFM support for complex cases
- Approximately 2,500 annual deliveries across the service
- Typical volume of 2-4 deliveries per shift
- Full-time schedule of approximately 14 twelve-hour shifts per month
- Rotating day and night shifts, including required weekends
- Fully shift-based model with no call-backs or remote responsibilities after shifts
