Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician
Job Description
Our organization is looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN Physician to become a part of our dedicated women's health program. This position allows you to deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, which includes surgical interventions, outpatient consultations, and inpatient management, all within a collaborative hospital setting. We handle approximately 900 deliveries each year, and you will have the chance to work alongside midwives, medical students, and residents. Our facility features a Level II NICU with an in-house pediatric hospitalist, and nocturnists are available for nighttime call coverage. We welcome applications from new graduates.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver full-spectrum OB/GYN care, encompassing:
- Routine gynecological and preventive services
- Obstetric care for both high- and low-risk pregnancies
- Surgical procedures such as C-sections, hysterectomies, and minimally invasive techniques
- Oversee both inpatient and outpatient care
- Engage in shared call coverage, with no nighttime duties required
- Collaborate with midwives, anesthesia teams, pediatrics, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation in electronic health records
- Participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution
- Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Eligibility for or possession of an active Maine medical license
- DEA registration
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Fluency in Lingala, French, Portuguese, or Somali is a plus
