Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid OSPI Certification with DHH endorsement required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with cochlear implants and hearing aids
  • Familiarity with both FM systems and ASL users
  • Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in educational settings
  • Strong communication skills and cultural competency
  • Ability to manage a dynamic, itinerant caseload

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Travel weekly to different school sites, delivering direct service and consultation
  • Provide tailored instruction to students with hearing loss, ensuring access to curriculum
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, supporting successful inclusion
  • Work closely with staff, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and adapt IEPs
  • Support use and maintenance of hearing technology (cochlear implants, hearing aids, FM systems)
  • Foster an engaging and accessible learning environment for both ASL users and oral communicators
  • Offer staff training and resources to ensure best practices in supporting DHH students
