Desired Qualifications:
- Valid OSPI Certification with DHH endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with cochlear implants and hearing aids
- Familiarity with both FM systems and ASL users
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in educational settings
- Strong communication skills and cultural competency
- Ability to manage a dynamic, itinerant caseload
Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel weekly to different school sites, delivering direct service and consultation
- Provide tailored instruction to students with hearing loss, ensuring access to curriculum
- Collaborate with general education teachers, supporting successful inclusion
- Work closely with staff, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and adapt IEPs
- Support use and maintenance of hearing technology (cochlear implants, hearing aids, FM systems)
- Foster an engaging and accessible learning environment for both ASL users and oral communicators
- Offer staff training and resources to ensure best practices in supporting DHH students
