Special Education Teacher - Kalama, WA

A full-time, onsite position is available for the upcoming academic year: August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027. Work closely with students with a range of disabilities, supporting their unique educational journeys in a welcoming and collaborative environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher Certification (required)
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and best practices in special education

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans for students with various disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Manage IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and classroom management techniques
• Track and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
• Advocate for student needs and foster an atmosphere of respect and encouragement
• Participate in school meetings, staff development, and professional learning communities
