Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students from elementary through high school in a vibrant educational environment near Ann Arbor, MI. This full-time assignment spans from August to December, with the possibility of extension into the spring semester, offering continuity for both you and the students you’ll inspire.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid COTA certification and licensure in Michigan
- Experience in school settings, ideally with K-12 populations
- Proficiency applying therapeutic techniques to meet diverse student needs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills—able to partner with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Compassion, adaptability, and a genuine passion for facilitating student growth and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services tailored to a range of students, from elementary-age through high school
- Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking IEP-related goals in coordination with licensed OTs
- Document progress, maintain clear and organized records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Support classroom adaptations, sensory strategies, and self-care skills to enhance student participation and success
- Partner with educators and families to promote a supportive, inclusive learning environment
