Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a committed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an engaging school-based environment near Silver Spring, MD! This contract position provides the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated educators and families, supporting students in reaching their communication goals.
You’ll have flexibility in scheduling, as this opportunity spans several school sites. Based on your preferences and availability, full-time roles can be created by combining openings at Forest Ridge Elementary (3 days), Swansfield Elementary (5 days), Elkridge Landing Middle (2 days), Hammond Middle (3 days), Howard High (1 day), and Wilde Lake High (4 days), as well as an additional potential split between Wilde Lake High and Howard High. The contract period runs from August 10, 2026, to June 9, 2027, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
What You Bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and valid MD SLP License
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
- Previous experience in a school-based SLP role strongly preferred
- Passion for supporting diverse student needs in elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Eagerness to work onsite and contribute to the school community
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and direct therapy services to students with speech-language disorders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help students achieve their goals
- Track progress and maintain accurate documentation according to district guidelines
- Offer support, training, and resources to teachers and families
