School Occupational Therapist - Irving, Texas
Job Description

This contract opportunity is available immediately through the end of May 2027, offering you the chance to work district-wide with a dedicated, tight-knit team near the Irving, TX area. You’ll collaborate closely with 2-3 COTAs and focus on evaluations and supervision responsibilities.
Your schedule will consist of 37.5 hours per week, and keeping clear, weekly timelogs for administrative approval is an important part of this position. The district maintains a small, community-oriented atmosphere, and you’ll have the chance to build meaningful connections as you support students’ occupational therapy needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active OT license required
- Prior experience in school-based OT settings preferred
- Familiarity with ESPED (IEP System) essential
- Strong organizational skills, especially in logging and reporting hours
- Collaborative approach for effective work with COTAs and school staff
- Initiative and accountability—candidates are only compensated for on-site workdays
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students across the district
- Supervise and support Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate progress with school staff and families
- Work hands-on with students to help them achieve IEP goals
- Submit weekly time logs to administration for approval
