Job Description
Inspire meaningful growth in students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time, onsite position in a supportive middle school environment. This contract opportunity spans the upcoming school year, running from August 26, 2026, to June 11, 2027, and offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Washington State certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with a range of disabilities at the middle school level
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for partnering with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum and instruction to accommodate various learning styles
- Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom climate
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with a variety of disabilities
- Deliver differentiated instruction in small group and inclusive settings
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals to ensure cohesive support
- Engage in regular communication with families regarding student growth and needs
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings
