Staff/Legal Accountant

Join a growing professional services firm where you'll play a key role in accounting operations, financial reporting, billing, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Oversee accounts payable, including invoices, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, collections, and aging reports while resolving billing issues.
  • Coordinate legal billing, including pre-bills, invoicing, adjustments, and client billing compliance.
  • Administer trust accounting, ensuring accurate reconciliations and regulatory compliance.
  • Support payroll processing, audits, and year-end reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support audit and compliance initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience working in a law firm required.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills and legal accounting/billing software experience required.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
