Title: Packaging Operator 1
Location: Martin, US (788 Chert Quarry Road)
Pay Rate: $24.00/hr on W2
Schedule: Rotating swing shift (12-hour shifts); 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM.
Job Description
Position Summary: Support the manufacturing of products according to established protocols and perform operations in support of the group, department, and company.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform production and packaging operations per current production processes and procedures.
- Transport chemicals and equipment to and from processes including the use of pumps/piping, fork trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of product throughout the production process.
- Wear appropriate PPE for production processes, which may include full face respirators, gloves, and suits.
- Clean up equipment and working areas after production operations.
- Coordinate the appropriate disposal of waste and complete compliance documentation.
- Communicate and document the status of processes, products, and equipment, and bring deviations to the attention of the supervisor.
- Provide a complete and accurate batch record at the conclusion of production operations consistent with quality guidelines.
- Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current procedures.
- Perform operations in compliance with rules and in a safe, orderly manner, following safety policies at all times.
- Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions, and participate in required safety and quality training.
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education:
AA in a life science area with 1-2 years of experience working in a similar environment, OR a High School diploma with 1-3 years of experience in a similar environment.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of chemical manufacturing experience is preferred. Forklift experience is strictly required.
Skills:
- Safe chemical handling methods, mechanical skills, and troubleshooting skills.
Soft Skills:
- Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and organizational skills.
