Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist starting on August 17, lasting approximately 9 weeks. This role operates on the 2nd shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with rotating weekends in Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure all medications are supplied and dispensed according to legal regulations.
  • Confirm that prescribed medicines are appropriate for each patient.
  • Maintain confidential and precise records of patient medication and pharmacy files.
  • Advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer their questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for both external and internal use, preparing sterile solutions following proper procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related issues and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

  • WI Pharmacist license in-hand.
  • Retail pharmacist experience preferred, but candidates willing to train are welcome.
