Job Description
Make a meaningful impact working as a School Social Worker supporting elementary students in a vibrant school environment. This contract position runs from August 12, 2026, through November 4, 2026, with the possibility of extension. You'll collaborate with educators and families to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for K-5th grade students, working full-time onsite from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- IL School Social Worker (SSW) License is required
- Previous experience in a school setting is essential
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Passion for supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of elementary-aged children
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students with diverse needs
- Develop interventions and strategies to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
- Serve as a resource for school staff and families, offering guidance and support on social-emotional learning
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to advocate for student success and well-being
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and maintain thorough documentation
- Assist with crisis intervention and connect students and families to community resources
