School Social Worker in Elgin, IL

This contract position runs from August 12, 2026, through November 4, 2026, with the possibility of extension. You'll collaborate with educators and families to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for K-5th grade students, working full-time onsite from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
• IL School Social Worker (SSW) License is required
• Previous experience in a school setting is essential
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
• Passion for supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of elementary-aged children

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling for students with diverse needs
• Develop interventions and strategies to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
• Serve as a resource for school staff and families, offering guidance and support on social-emotional learning
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to advocate for student success and well-being
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and maintain thorough documentation
• Assist with crisis intervention and connect students and families to community resources
