Senior Warehouse Associate / Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Associate / Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse operations team in Tallmadge, OH 44278. This is a 6-month temporary contract offering $20.00 per hour. In this role, you will support shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling operations while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with shipping regulations. This opportunity is ideal for warehouse professionals with at least three years of experience who thrive in a high-volume environment and are looking to make an immediate impact.
- Monday – Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Weekends Off)
- Perform shipping, receiving, packing, loading, unloading, and material handling activities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
- Prepare, package, label, and stage shipments according to customer and company requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse or inventory management systems.
- Ensure compliance with DOT shipping regulations, hazardous material handling requirements, and company safety procedures.
- Read and follow work instructions, shipping documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and material movement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse while meeting daily productivity goals.
- Respond quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse, shipping & receiving, logistics, or material handling experience.
- Working knowledge of packing, loading, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience using warehouse or inventory management systems.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measuring, and shipping documentation.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, shipping documents, correspondence, and safety procedures.
- Basic written communication and record-keeping skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- International Air Transportation (IATA) certification and experience with hazardous air shipments.
- DOT shipping knowledge and experience with road/trucking shipping regulations.
- SAP experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Respond quickly to operational demands while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety.
- Warehouse-based position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Frequent lifting, moving, packing, loading, and handling of materials.
- Continuous interaction with warehouse equipment, inventory, and personnel.
- Warehouse noise and equipment traffic are part of the daily work environment.
- Strict adherence to all company safety policies and procedures is required.
