Responsibilities:
\nPerform a variety of manufacturing tasks using production equipment to ensure steady workflow.
\nAbility to perform minor equipment adjustments and ensure quality checks are performed before, during, and upon completion.
\nMay stack boxes, clean areas of the facility, or perform other general helper duties.
\nMove and lift heavy objects.
\nMaintain production and work records.
\nExamine products in order to verify conformance to specifications.
\nClean rooms and/or work areas as needed.
\nSort manufacturing materials and products.
\nLoad and unload materials into machinery.
\nLoad, unload, and stack products, materials, and containers.
\nMeasure, weigh, or count products and materials.
\nOperate hoist, winch, and hydraulic boom.
\nPerform safety inspections in the manufacturing and industrial settings of the plant.
\nUse both hand and power tools as needed.
\nCorrectly mark products and containers for identification purposes.
\nBasic Qualifications:
\nHigh School Graduate or GED.
\nTwo out of last four years must have worked full or part-time.
\nSuccessful candidate must be willing to work swing and graveyard shifts, along with required overtime as needed.
\nMust have a strong safety background and a good attendance record.
\nExcellent communication and team work skills are essential.
\nMust be able to push, pull, bend, and twist repetitively.
\nHave an understanding that both temperatures and work volume may vary.
\nPreferred Qualifications:
\nPrevious plant manufacturing experience, particularly within the corrugated or packaging industry is a plus.
\nTests and Board Interview:
\nThose selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to take a series of five (5) written tests and take part in a structured board interview.
\nThe five (5) written tests are all timed and involve:
\nBasic mechanical principles
\nBasic arithmetic skills
\nThe ability to visualize three-dimensional figures
\nThe ability to compare numbers or patterns quickly and accurately
\nBasic verbal ability
\nThe interview will be conducted by a four (4) person board and involves a review of each candidate’s:
\nWork History
\nAchievements and accomplishments
\nKnowledge and skill acquisition
\nInterpersonal skills and helpfulness
\nTask related likes and dislikes
\nPhysical demands experience on previous jobs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- Starting salary for position: $25.88 per hour. \n
- Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year. \n

- Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages. \n
- Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions. \n
