Job Description
Step into an impactful role supporting young learners in a K-1 self-contained classroom focused on students with developmental delays. You’ll be working full-time alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals and a supportive team environment, shaping diverse learners who follow both general and adapted curriculum pathways. This contract position begins with the upcoming school year and is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference for students at a pivotal stage of their development.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum Certification
- Certified in all key content areas: Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies
- Demonstrated experience with IEP development and implementation
- Proficient with behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management
- Comfortable differentiating instruction for both general and adapted curriculum learners
- Able to provide three professional reference checks (with one from a recent supervisor)
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and execute individualized IEP goals and accommodations
- Deliver behavioral interventions and establish positive behavior supports
- Collaborate with administrators, related service providers, families, and fellow educators
- Monitor student progress and diligently maintain compliance documentation
- Differentiate instruction to meet a wide array of learning needs across content areas
- Promote a nurturing, structured classroom culture that encourages growth and independence
