Step into a dynamic school environment as a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist, providing vital support to students during a period of leave coverage. This position runs from August 10th through the end of October and will involve working across two elementary buildings with a diverse and engaging caseload. There is a Speech-Language Assistant (SLA) assigned, making this an excellent opportunity to collaborate and help meet the needs of a larger caseload.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Active SLP-CCC certification and state licensure
- School-based SLP experience, particularly in elementary settings
- Ability to manage a larger caseload with support from an SLA
- Familiarity with IEPs and compliance in educational settings
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Reliable technology and comfort with teletherapy, as VOCO options may be considered
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting a variety of student needs
Responsibilities in this role include:
- Providing speech and language therapy services to approximately 117 students
- Collaborating with the SLA for session planning, documentation, and student progress monitoring
- Working with students across two elementary schools, delivering in-person or virtual services as needed
- Conducting assessments, implementing interventions, and tracking progress toward IEP goals
- Communicating effectively with teachers, families, and special education teams
- Adhering to district, state, and federal guidelines for school-based therapy services
