Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a qualified Embedded Linux System Administrator to support a secure lab environment at NAS Patuxent River. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and supporting Linux-based embedded systems and lab infrastructure used for research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration experience, solid troubleshooting capabilities, and familiarity with compliance and cybersecurity best practices.

Their day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Administering and maintaining Linux-based systems within a secure lab environment
• Supporting embedded hardware and operating systems used in RDT&E efforts
• Performing system patching, vulnerability scanning, and compliance activities
• Ensuring systems remain operational, secure, and properly backed up
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues
• Supporting lab sustainment activities and system upgrades
• Assisting with configuration management and system documentation
• Collaborating with engineering teams to support testing and development efforts
• Monitoring system health and responding to operational issues
• Supporting cybersecurity requirements and compliance initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• 3+ years of related Systems Administration experience
• Ability to work onsite at NAS Patuxent River
• Experience administering Linux operating systems, including:
• • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Ubuntu
  • Solaris
  • CentOS
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Foundational understanding of:
• • STIG implementation
  • Security patching
  • Vulnerability scanning
  • System compliance practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

• Windows Systems Administration experience
• Experience with Ansible
• Familiarity with networking concepts including:
• • Routing
  • Switching
  • Firewalls
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies
• Storage administration experience
• Previous lab environment support experience
• Experience supporting RDT&E programs or test environments

Compensation

Pay: $49/hr - $72/hr
