Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting preferred
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with a variety of learning challenges
- Design and adapt lesson plans to suit individual student needs
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and staff to support student progress
- Complete and maintain accurate student records, including progress notes and IEP documentation
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements and areas of growth
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required
