Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support long term care and mail order pharmacy services. This role offers a structured schedule with shifts on Wednesday through Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM, and Monday to Tuesday from 9 AM to 7:30 PM, providing a blend of afternoon and extended hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications to patients.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns to ensure safety.
  • Ensure legal adherence regarding the supply and distribution of medicines.
  • Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients’ conditions.
  • Maintain confidential, precise records of all patient and pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients on the proper use of medicines, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation advice, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on correct handling and use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions as required, following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff members including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage inventory to maintain adequate pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to address patient drug-related issues.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid pharmacist license for Washington State.
  • Experience in long term care, mail order, or retail pharmacy environments.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage staff and patient interactions.
