This full-time contract opportunity spans the academic year, providing essential interpretation services in school environments. You'll work closely with students throughout the school day, ensuring full access to classroom instruction and activities. Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably within a school setting
- Ability to interpret effectively in varied classroom and school environments
- Knowledge of deaf and hard-of-hearing student needs and accommodations
- Certification and compliance with state and educational interpreting standards
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and confidential sign language interpretation during instructional and extracurricular activities
- Work primarily with 1-2 students at a time, adjusting to caseload updates as needed
- Support learners in classrooms and school functions, promoting engagement and accessibility
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and school personnel to optimize each student’s educational experience
- Uphold ethical guidelines and maintain a professional presence across elementary and high school sites
Extra Information:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, academic year contract
