POSITION SUMMARY\n
\nThis is a full-time faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction on topics in Culinary Arts.\n
\n
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n
\nPerform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.\n
\n
\nTeach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location. Other instructional delivery modes, such as online, hybrid or web-enhanced, taught from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location, may be assigned based on operational needs, as determined by the College.\n
\n
\nWithin a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold office hours.\n
\n
\nWork with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent student experiences.\n
\n
\nUtilize the College's learning management system to provide course materials to students.\n
\n
\nSubmit updated course syllabi prior to the first day of class.\n
\n
\nSubmit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.\n
\n
\nProvide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success.\n
\n
\nRemain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities.\n
\n
\nRegularly check College email and departmental mailbox.\n
\n
\nRespond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on weekends.\n
\n
\nComplete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions.\n
\n
\nAdminister and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.\n
\n
\nEngage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Actively participates on divisional and institutional committees. Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.\n
\n
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n
\nAssociate's Degree in Culinary Arts or a closely related field\n
\n
\nThree years' experience in culinary arts field\n
\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n
\nIndustry certification in Culinary Arts\n
\n
\nCollege-level teaching experience\n
\n
\nAbility to teach a wide range of culinary courses from introductory to advanced\n
\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\n
\nKnowledge of and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of student populations.\n
