We are seeking applicants for a Production Operator at our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.
\n\n
Responsibilities:
\nPerform a variety of manufacturing tasks using production equipment to ensure steady workflow.
\nAbility to perform minor equipment adjustments and ensure quality checks are performed before, during, and upon completion.
\nMay stack boxes, clean areas of the facility, or perform other general helper duties.
\nMove and lift heavy objects.
\nMaintain production and work records.
\nExamine products in order to verify conformance to specifications.
\nClean rooms and/or work areas as needed.
\nSort manufacturing materials and products.
\nLoad and unload materials into machinery.
\nLoad, unload, and stack products, materials, and containers.
\nMeasure, weigh, or count products and materials.
\nOperate hoist, winch, and hydraulic boom.
\nPerform safety & equipment inspections in the manufacturing and industrial settings of the plant.
\nUse both hand and power tools as needed.
\nCorrectly mark products and containers for identification purposes.
\n\n
Basic Qualifications:
\nMust be at least 18 years of age.
\nMust have a High School Diploma or GED.
\nMust have previous work experience.
\nMust have a current and valid Driver's License.
\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S.
\nSuccessful candidate must be willing to work swing and graveyard shifts, along with required overtime as needed.
\nMust have a strong safety background and a good attendance record.
\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
\nMust be able to push, pull, bend, and twist repetitively.
\nHave an understanding that both temperatures and work volume may vary.
\n\n
Preferred Qualifications:
\nPrevious plant manufacturing experience is a plus.
\n\n
The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
\nAbility to be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.
\nAbility to exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
\nCapable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving, ambiguity, and change.
\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
\nAbility to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports.

Tests and Board Interview:
\nThose selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to take a series of five written tests and take part in a structured board interview.
\n\n
The five written tests are all timed and involve:
\nBasic mechanical principles
\nBasic arithmetic skills
\nThe ability to visualize three-dimensional figures
\nThe ability to compare numbers or patterns quickly and accurately
\nBasic verbal ability
\n\n
The interview will be conducted by a four-person board and involves a review of each candidate’s:
\nWork history
\nAchievements and accomplishments
\nKnowledge and skill acquisition
\nInterpersonal skills and helpfulness
\nTask related likes and dislikes
\nPhysical demands experienced on previous jobs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- Starting salary for position: $28.65 per hour. \n
- Paid Vacation and Paid Holidays. \n
