Job Summary
A well-established and successful organization in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a CPA with strong general ledger accounting expertise, government accounting knowledge, and the ability to step in quickly to support financial reporting, monthly close, audit preparation, and compliance.
The Accounting Manager will join a collaborative accounting team where accuracy, accountability, and teamwork are highly valued. This is a strong opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys partnering with leadership, improving financial processes, and making an immediate impact in a stable and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records, reporting, and accounting operations.
- Review and approve monthly accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor monthly budget-to-actual results, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Post daily accounting batches in SAGE and assist with annual financial report preparation.
- Support external audit activities by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, government accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Contract/Temporary opportunity.
- Pay range: $50 to $60 per hour.
- Location: San Diego, CA.
