This full-time contract role focuses on supporting a 3rd and 4th grade caseload of 15-20 students, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant, positive impact on young learners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially 3rd and 4th graders
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and accommodations
- Ability to create differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, general education staff, and specialists
- Organizational strengths for managing documentation and case files
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student on the caseload
- Deliver engaging instruction in small group and one-on-one settings
- Modify general curriculum as needed to ensure accessibility
- Collect and evaluate data to monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to coordinate services
- Communicate regularly with families, updating on student progress and strategies for support
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with state and federal guidelines
