Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity seeks experienced pharmacists to join a dynamic team supporting long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. The role focuses on maintaining high standards in medication dispensing, patient consultation, and pharmacy operations within a second shift schedule.

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: Monday – Friday, 2nd shift (1:00 pm – 9:30 pm), with some Saturdays
Duration: 8 weeks (2 openings available)

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and safety standards
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage trends
  • Ensure medications prescribed meet regulatory and patient suitability requirements
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision
  • Counsel patients on medication use, possible reactions, and answer queries effectively
  • Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, including dosage, side effects, and interactions
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on the use and care of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications, following established procedures
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations
  • Manage pharmacy inventory and pharmaceutical supplies efficiently
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related patient issues

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Wisconsin
  • Experience in pharmacy operations
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience is an advantage
