Position Overview
The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) in the Cath Lab, guided by the director or charge person, is responsible for overseeing various procedures. This includes all diagnostic and interventional studies related to coronary and peripheral catheterization. The role emphasizes ensuring patient safety and involves functioning as a scrub assistant during procedures.
QualificationsEducation- Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology
- OR Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology
- OR Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Alternatively, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire)
- OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire)
- Preferred: Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license with a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
- OR Preferred: Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license with a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification
- OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields)
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
