Industrial Electrician/Automation Technician - $40-$50/hr DOE!

Integrity Trade Services is hiring an Industrial Electrician/Automation Technician for our food manufacturing client to start immediately at $40-$50/hr DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!

Responsibilities:

As an Industrial Electrician / Automation Technician, you will play a vital role in the operation, upkeep, and enhancement of electrical and automated systems. Your responsibilities will include installing, diagnosing, and repairing both high-voltage and low-voltage machinery and equipment to maintain seamless production workflows. This role demands a strong combination of electrical expertise and automation proficiency to effectively support our manufacturing operations.

Installation and Configuration:

  • Install and integrate electrical panels and control systems into automated machinery in accordance with technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Set up and calibrate pneumatic components—including valves, actuators, and cylinders—to ensure optimal performance.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on high- and low-voltage electrical systems as well as pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including those involving high-voltage motors, starters, and low-voltage control circuits.
  • Replace or repair defective electrical components to restore equipment functionality.

Testing and Performance Optimization:

  • Conduct tests and inspections to assess electrical system performance and identify areas for improvement.

Automation and Control Integration:

  • Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) to ensure smooth integration of pneumatic systems within overall automation controls.
  • Program and configure automation systems to efficiently manage pneumatic operations.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep precise records of system installations, maintenance tasks, and repairs.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, maintenance schedules, and recommendations for system enhancements.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when working with pneumatic and electrical equipment.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies during installation, maintenance, and repair work.

Training and Technical Support:

  • Train and guide operators and maintenance staff on the proper use and upkeep of systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve pneumatic-related issues and improve system performance.

Location: University Park, IL

Schedule/Shift Details:

  • 8-10 hours shifts
  • Overtime as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and automated systems.
  • Skilled in high-voltage electrical installation, including power distribution panels, MCC panels, and control panels.
  • Proficient in interpreting schematics and blueprints.
  • Familiar with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control automation systems.
  • Capable of evaluating system performance and diagnosing issues accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and clear technical instruction.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Meticulous in executing tasks and maintaining accurate documentation.
