Job Description
Bring your expertise in special education to a dynamic contract opportunity serving middle school students in a supportive environment near Acton, CA. This position is available to begin as early as August 10th, or as soon as possible, continuing through June 3rd. You'll work Monday through Friday, providing essential support across a 37.5-hour work week. As a roving specialist, you'll collaborate daily with other RSP teachers to meet the diverse needs of a caseload of 28 students, making a direct impact in their educational journey.
What you’ll need:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance requirements
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
- Collaborative spirit for working with RSP team members, parents, and staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel between classrooms or assigned campuses as needed
Core responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students on your caseload
- Support IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curricula and assessments
- Maintain accurate documentation and regular communication with parents/guardians
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development sessions
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
This contract position offers a competitive rate of $45+ per hour, with the final rate determined by your experience and educational background.
