Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of middle school students by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a vibrant educational environment. This contract position runs from August 6 to May 28, offering you the opportunity to work school-day hours from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. You'll support a caseload of 35 students in grades 6 through 8, helping them achieve academic growth and personal success.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience in a middle school setting is preferred
- Ability to adapt instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Organizational skills to manage IEPs, progress monitoring, and classroom responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with each student’s goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress
- Utilize data to inform instruction and participate in ongoing professional development
- Support students’ social and emotional well-being
