Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of IEP process and ability to contribute to student evaluation and goal setting
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments to determine students’ needs for physical therapy services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting functional mobility, motor skills, and safety within the school environment
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines
- Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining thorough and timely documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and supporting compliance with all legal requirements
