Make a meaningful impact in education as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter, supporting students in need of communication access and connection. Your expertise will be leveraged to assist both students with hearing impairments and those with limited or no verbal skills in inclusive classroom settings. As we expand our programming, your ability to facilitate clear and effective communication will be pivotal in educational evaluations and everyday learning.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Sign Language Interpreter certification (SLI level required)
• Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings (0-3+ years welcomed)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Understanding of diverse learning and communication needs, including with non-verbal or limited-verbal students
• Flexibility for on-site or hybrid schedule (minimum four days per week in-person)
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Attention to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services during lessons, activities, and meetings
• Facilitate communication for students in SAILS and STEPs programs
• Participate in evaluations to assess and support student needs
• Collaborate with educational teams to implement student-centered support plans
• Adapt interpretation techniques to meet individual student requirements
• Uphold a supportive, inclusive environment for all learners
