Qualifications and Credentials:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS1 Endorsement
- Early Childhood Special Education or Early Childhood Education certification
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a special education setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies for early learners with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, individualized instruction to preschool students requiring special education services
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adjust teaching approaches as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and development
- Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Maintain accurate, timely records and participate in required meetings
