Step into a meaningful role supporting students in grades 1 through 8 as a School Psychologist for a full-time contract position. This opportunity allows you to make a real difference by working directly with children at a school near New Haven, CT. The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 2:30pm, providing a balanced schedule that gives you afternoons free while you focus your expertise during core school hours.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Master's or higher degree in School Psychology or related field
  • Valid School Psychologist credential for Connecticut or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience providing psychological services to elementary and middle school students (grades 1-8)
  • Proficient in assessment, intervention, counseling, and consultation within a school setting
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Compassionate, student-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assessments
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEP) and interventions
  • Provide counseling and support to students individually and in groups
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff to foster student success
  • Participate in planning meetings and provide expertise on behavioral and learning challenges
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
