Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist offering a 13-week contract in Schertz, TX, with a work schedule from 12 PM to 8 PM. The role focuses on clinical pharmacy within the home infusion therapy setting, blending patient care with sterile compounding expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients for eligibility and suitability for home infusion therapy.
  • Develop and monitor personalized medication therapy plans using clinical data and pharmacokinetic principles.
  • Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications according to USP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication use and infusion administration.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and monitor patient outcomes.
  • Manage infusion pumps and related equipment while ensuring quality and safety.
  • Provide drug information and maintain thorough documentation to support medication safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist license.
  • At least one of the following:
    • Minimum 1 year of sterile IV compounding experience,
    • Experience in non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM),
    • Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency,
    • Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE),
    • Equivalent pharmacy experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong clinical knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
  • Proficiency in interpreting laboratory values and applying pharmacokinetic concepts.
  • Excellent communication, patient counseling, and customer service abilities.
