Sign Language Interpreter in Middletown, MD

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a dynamic high school student with a passion for football and track, who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and transitioning from the Maryland School for the Deaf. This assignment begins August 24, 2026, and runs through June 11, 2027, with the potential for Extended School Year (ESY) services. Enjoy a consistent, full-time schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This role is ideal for professionals experienced in educational settings and confident bridging communication for high school students. Your expertise will empower this student to thrive academically and socially as they navigate both classroom and extracurricular environments.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• Experience working in schools or with high school students
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to provide clear, accurate interpretation in academic and social contexts
• Comfort adapting to a student’s individual learning style and communication needs
• Positive, engaged approach to collaborating with staff, students, and families
• Bonus: Familiarity with support needs for student-athletes
