Job Description

Manufacturing company is looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to oversee all aspects of procurement. Experience purchasing steel and fabrication materials is required. The Purchasing Manager is a skilled negotiator capable of sourcing vendors with the best price, quality, and delivery capabilities and is also involved in developing and maintaining the records for the supplier program.\n
\n*Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager:*\n
\n
\n* Procure raw materials, components, and indirect services from international and domestic vendors\n
\n* Negotiating terms and pricing with vendors utilizing analysis of trends and fostering productive relationships\n
\n* Hold vendors to required standards\n
\n* Create and maintain purchase orders, order confirmations, and expedite orders weekly\n
\n* Enter and process orders that are communicated via phone and email\n
\n* Maintain accurate inventory and troubleshoot shortages for spare parts, Customer owned inventory and OEM manufacturing in Excel\n
\n* Create a drawing book to release product to manufacturing for builds and update it throughout the process to reflect changes in schedule / completion date based on component availability or technology changes\n

\n*Qualifications of the Purchasing Manager:*\n
\n
\n* Previous experience purchasing steel and fabrication materials\n
\n* Technical ability to communicate with the engineering team to develop a bill of materials (workbooks) based on PDF/Solid drawings\n
\n* Ability to coordinate company needs and timelines with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shipping and Receiving departments\n
\n* Strong analytical skills with knowledge of forecasting and monitoring vendor and company metrics to track performance and ensure optimal inventory levels\n
\n* Strong communicator with a professional approach to building relationships with vendors\n
\n* Must have the ability to read & understand engineering drawings. (Drawings consist of light and heavy fabrications and machining)\n
\n* Understand the confidentiality of our products & customers\n
\n* Experience using Excel, Word, QuickBooks, and SolidWorks experience a plus.\n
\n* Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain in manufacturing\n
