Job Description
Take on a rewarding opportunity supporting middle school students as a School Psychologist during a maternity leave coverage. This contract position offers a chance to make a difference in a collaborative and welcoming educational environment. The assignment runs from October 1, 2026, through December 2026, with full-time, on-site hours. You'll provide vital psychological services and consultation for middle schoolers, ensuring a successful learning experience for each student.
Key Qualifications:
- Active School Psychologist license for Illinois is required
- Experience working with middle school populations preferred
- Strong skills in counseling, assessment, and consultation with students and staff
- Ability to collaborate effectively on multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments
- Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies
- Lead and participate in IEP and eligibility meetings
- Provide direct counseling or crisis intervention as needed
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student needs
- Assist in data collection and the development of best practices for student success
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with district and state guidelines
