IV Sterile Compounding Clinical Pharmacist - Helotes, TX

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding and clinical pharmacy services. This role is based in Helotes, TX, with a consistent schedule from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients for home infusion therapy to determine their eligibility for home-based care, developing and adjusting individualized medication therapy plans based on clinical and laboratory assessments, and preparing, verifying, and dispensing sterile medications compliant with USP standards and regulatory requirements. The pharmacist will educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication therapy and infusion administration, ensuring safe and effective medication use. Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and monitoring patient outcomes are key aspects of the position. Managing infusion pumps and medication administration equipment under strict quality assurance and safety protocols is essential. Additional responsibilities include providing drug information, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting regulatory compliance and medication safety initiatives.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Texas
• One or more of the following:• Minimum of 1 year sterile IV compounding experience• Experience with non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM)• Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency• Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE)• Equivalent pharmacy experience
• Strong clinical knowledge in home infusion pharmacy practices
• Ability to interpret laboratory values and apply pharmacokinetic principles
• Excellent communication, patient counseling, and customer service skills
