Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of high school students by providing Occupational Therapy services for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with educators, students, and families to support student success near Dearborn, MI. With a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, you’ll play a key role in helping high school students develop skills for independence, learning, and participation in school routines.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)
- Current OT license for the state of Michigan (or eligibility)
- Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably with high school students
- Proficiency in evaluating and treating students with diverse needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create individualized treatment plans tailored to educational goals
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs related to motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living tasks
- Develop and implement effective intervention strategies as part of each student’s IEP
- Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure seamless integration of therapy into the school environment
- Maintain detailed documentation of services and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
- Educate and provide resources for students, caregivers, and staff on OT-related topics
