Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for Illinois
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in resource and co-teaching models
  • Background supporting middle school students, especially in English Language Arts
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and families
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adapt instruction as needed
  • Committed to fostering inclusivity and equity in the classroom

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach 8th Grade ELA classes with a general education partner, providing differentiated instruction
  • Deliver targeted resource support to students in alignment with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Employ various instructional strategies and accommodations to enhance student learning and engagement
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to regular IEP meetings
  • Communicate proactively with students, parents, and staff to ensure academic and social-emotional success
  • Help create a nurturing, positive, and supportive classroom atmosphere
