Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Illinois (or eligibility for reciprocal certification)
  • Demonstrated experience working with middle school students, preferably in an ELA resource or co-taught setting
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and support staff
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized academic support in ELA resource and co-taught 8th grade classrooms
  • Develop and deliver accommodations that foster an inclusive environment
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with IEP goals
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, IEP conferences, and professional development
  • Engage in meaningful communication with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to support student success
